Location and access to the UJI
Practical sessions
In addition to theoretical classes, certain course modules will include hands-on practical training in a university computer laboratory, with 1 student per computer.
Language
The teaching language of the course is English. Opportunities also exist for informal tutorial in Spanish, Portuguese and German.
Application to attend
The course is designed for a maximum of 25 students, approximately 14 of which will be grant-holders pre-selected by the member universities of the EduGI.LA project. The remaining spaces will be filled by a competitive process based on analysis of the candidates’ curriculum vitae. Candidates from around the world are invited to apply.
Requisites
It is assumed that applicants meet the following basic requirements:

degree in related field

some experience
with Geographic Information (i.e. GIS)

some computing
i.e. programming experience
-
reasonable
fluency in English language.
These requirements should be addressed in the candidate’s curriculum vita (CV).
Requests to attend the summer school should consist of a simple cover letter and an attached CV (both in English) of no more than 4 pages. (For eduGI.LA grant holders the cover letter should also indicate 2 preferences for project location.) Tuition fee
Non-grant-holders (normal applicants) will be charged a nominal fee of Euro 300 for the 2-week course. (A reduced fee of 200 Euros will be charged to students from eduGI.net member institutions). This fee covers tuition, class materials (paper) and weekend excursion. Meals, housing and travel to/from Castellón are not included in this fee; applicants will be asked to verify, at the time of application, that they are able to assume these additional costs.
